Do you armor up, to be engaged in the world when you are with your child and then find that armor exhausting and too heavy to carry?
Yes?
” back_content=”
Armor is an appropriate tool to protect ourselves from real threats. Armor becomes an issue when we wear it all the time, whether we need it or not. Through learning about your own personal energy system and how to stay strong within yourself, you will no longer need the armor to stay strong and protected. There are meditation practices like yoga nidra and mindful based stress reduction that can support you in finding ways to relax and let go. Aromatherapy blends can be a wonderful complement to support your process.

Do you often wonder why your child is behaving the way they are? Do you know that some behaviors are related to their special needs and some behaviors are influenced by their environment and your actions and reactions?
Yes?
” back_content=”According to the concept of applied behavior analysis, there are 4 functions of behavior, 3 of which are controlled by the reactions of the people in your child’s environment. You can create change in your child’s behavior, by creating your reaction to that behavior. Sometimes, we inadvertently encourage the behavior we would like to decrease.

Have you experienced depression and grief around the life that you are currently living?
Yes?
” back_content=”
These are common feelings in parents of children with special needs. How we imagine our children would be and how parenting should be is not in alignment with the reality that you are now in. Part of this process is to acknowledge and give space to any feelings that are arising. They are all valid. There are energy practices, yoga and meditation techniques that can support you in moving through those feelings and arriving at a different stage. With ongoing practice, they can be lifelong tools.

Kind Words
“As a special education teacher, I have had the pleasure of attending many of Rona’s training sessions. Rona is very knowledgeable about an array of behavioral supports that can be helpful to parents and teachers when supporting students with special needs. She has come to the rescue many times for me in providing a variety of valuable behavioral support strategies for use in my classroom. Additionally, I have attended workshops and trainings where she has provided parents with support and encouragement while sharing strategies to try in a student’s home environment. Fortunately, Rona also understands that our own self care is extremely important in being able to focus and implement behavioral strategies when needed. Simply put, Rona listens. And helps us to understand that our own self care is important in being able to take care of others.”

“We have been working with Rona for more than 7 years. We started since my son was only 5 years old.
I like her patience and honesty, her guidance has helped us tremendously with behavior problems and anxiety. My son has shown anxiety at school and Rona has worked with relaxation techniques and yoga. Using this in his sessions with her has helped him to improve his anxiety and work every single time. He knows how and when to apply these relaxation techniques.
We highly recommend Rona, she is part of my son’s team and we are very thankful for it.”

“I have known Rona Levine for eight years. In that time I have been privileged to see the many sides of her. I have known her as my supervisor, I have known her as my colleague, and I have known her as my friend. Rona also has a very spiritual side that I have been a witness to over the last four years. She is talented. She is thorough. She is honest and she is accurate. As a BCBA for the Danbury public school system, Rona teaches many outreach programs for staff and others concerning behavioral strategies used when dealing with students with autism. However, this teaching is not just about the students. She also teaches that you, as the instructor are just as important. And it is in this teaching where she not only uses traditional strategies but nontraditional strategies such as goat yoga, and meditation to show her staff how they can help keep themselves grounded both at work and at home. She stresses the importance of inner balance and peace to help the individual in whatever settings they may find themselves. It is in these teachings that she goes above and beyond for her staff. She is not only concerned about their work well-being, but their whole well-being. This is what sets her apart from the average BCBA. I have been privileged to see the results of these teachings and from personal experience I can say they work. This is not a job for her. This is a lifestyle and a passion.”
